Volleyball Logs Panhandle Win

Amarillo, TX – In another non-district road trip, Permian faced a tough Amarillo High squad on Tuesday evening.  It would take four sets, but the Lady Panthers are returning home with yet another victory after winning three sets to one (26-24, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17).

Jade Workman led in kills with 19, followed by Cianna Harris with 16 and Sarahi Orona with 11.  Iliana Garcia recorded 19 digs, with Workman and Orona each adding 13.  Layny Brown contributed 58 assists in the victory, and Workman logged 51.

In a very competitive match between the two teams, Permian outlasted the Lady Sandies in the first set by edging Amarillo 26-24.  The Lady Panthers did a better job of controlling the second set and gained a 25-19 advantage win.

To the delight of the home crowd, a 23-25 decision in the third set favored the Sandies to force another set.  Mojo responded with a convincing 25-17 fourth and final set to claim the 3-1 road victory.

Permian has one more date before the district run begins.  Next Tuesday, the Lady Panthers will visit Wall to conclude the non-district slate.
